SolidWorks Routing Integration

For the transfer of laid out schematics from E³.Series directly into SolidWorks' new Harnessing and Routing components for handling as physical layout.

E³.Cable, part of E³.Series, is an easy to learn, ease to use, Windows based, design tool that provides engineers with all of the functionality needed to create intelligent schematic diagrams, including detailed cabling definitions. With the multi-view capabilities of E³.Cable, the individual conductors can be shown in the schematic, along with corresponding connector pins, and the complete cable/connector shown in another view. Additional views can be used to show interconnection tables, or connector end views, detailing connector pin layouts.

SolidWorks Routing is an add-on for Piping and Tubing with functionality for 3D-Harness Design. E³.Series integration allows for exchange data sets in these areas;

• Connection information
• Used connectors
• References to the 3D-model
• Backannotation of wire length information to E³.Series
• XML-file based data exchange

Furthermore the E³.Series integration provides a matching E³.Series Cable, Wire and Component Library- Component data and references to the 3D-Model

• Wire data and attributes, outer diameter, cross-section and color
