Creo Direct

Creating and modifying 3D designs is fast and easy with PTC Creo Direct, especially for someone transitioning from 2D to 3D CAD or a casual user. Whether you are creating a concept design or editing models to de-feature or simplify them for a downstream process such as simulation or NC and tooling design, PTC Creo Direct gives you the most flexibility when creating, manipulating and editing 3D geometry.

During product design, teams are often forced to compromise when it comes to using CAD software. Most users are limited to one 3D modeling paradigm – either parametric or direct – for all jobs. PTC Creo changes all that. Designers can choose the right modeling approach for the design, all in one environment, with a common data model.  This means that for the first time, designers can take a Parametric model into a direct environment, edit and return to the Parametric environment, without losing the history and design intent.

Key benefits

• Easy to use and learn. The intuitive, direct modeling approach enables new or infrequent users to quickly create and edit 3D designs.
• Faster, more flexible part and assembly modeling increases efficiency and productivity.
• Easily accommodate late-stage changes to your engineering design with less frustration.
• Work more efficiently by easily incorporating and editing data from other CAD systems.

Introducing the PTC Creo Design Exploration Extension

Typically, a designer is only able to explore 2 or 3 design alternatives during the concept design phase, yet according to recent research:  92% of companies say they would benefit immensely by exploring more design alternatives during concept design. 85% of companies agree product success requires innovation and good concept design. 73% of companies say […]
